Students ages 9–14 design, build, and program autonomous LEGO robots. Teams work together to plan, test, and improve their designs. They take on hands-on challenges that introduce engineering and problem-solving.

Season detailsAquabots
Middle and high school students design and build advanced underwater ROVs. They test their vehicles through mission-style challenges in a simulated marine-startup setting. Aquabots is McLean Robotics’ team, and 2026 was its first MATE ROV season.

Season details2027 SeaPerch Challenge
Students in grades 6-8 explore aquatic robotics by building PVC-frame underwater robots. They assemble circuits and controls, then test their vehicles in water. The projects introduce engineering through hands-on design and problem-solving.
